Argentina’s Buenos Aires now accepts Dogecoin (DOGE) for tax payments. This marks another bullish move for the pioneer memecoin asset Dogecoin (DOGE). Recently, the capital city of Argentina announced that it would accept crypto for local tax payments, a move that aligned with the country’s new crypto-friendly path, led by the President Trump of Argentina, Javier Milei, another pro-crypto political candidate.

Argentina’s Buenos Aires Now Accepts Dogecoin (DOGE) for Tax Payments

Just a few weeks ago, Buenos Aires, the capital city of Argentina, took a major step to further the country’s crypto-friendly path, led by its President, Javier Milei. In detail, Buenos Aires announced a major shift in how residents can pay their dues to the city. In a step that highlights the growing role of digital assets in daily and mundane life, the city government announced that it now accepts cryptocurrencies for local tax payments.

This step was made to make Buenos Aires more crypto-friendly, reduce unnecessary paperwork, and encourage businesses to see the city as a hub for financial innovation. To highlight, Argentina has long struggled with inflation and currency volatility, pushing many citizens to explore alternative stores of value. Thus, crypto assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and stablecoins have become popular tools for savings and transactions.

Presently, the country has over 10 million crypto accounts, making up about 22% of all accounts in Latin America. What’s more, businesses are increasingly adopting digital currencies for trade and payments. Therefore, by integrating crypto into public finance, Buenos Aires is tapping into this momentum and making government services more accessible.

Pioneer Memecoin DOGE Is Also Accepted

Ultimately, this move also reflects the city’s vision of becoming a modern, tech-driven economy that can attract talent, startups, and investment from the growing blockchain sector. Other cities in Argentina have already begun to accept crypto payments, making it easier for Buenos Aires to make this decision to accept cryptocurrencies as an official option for its citizens to pay taxes.

As we can see from the post above, Doegcoin (DOGE), the pioneer memecoin is one of the cryptocurrencies that Argentina accepts. This, plus the fact that Dogecoin (DOGE) ETFs were recently approved, guaranteeing that DOGE has come a long way from being used as a joke coin, or a show of gratitude with small, quick payments. Now, analysts believe DOGE has the potential to hit a new ATH price at $1 and possibly even $10 this bull cycle.
